1. Macarons. Not to be confused with Macaroons (which are totally delicious too), these little pastries come in beautiful colors and make me feel like I’m really in a city. You can’t get macarons in just any old suburb.
2. Backpacks. One thing I’m learning about living in NYC is that everyone (men and women alike) has loads of things to carry from point A to point B. I’ve been caught unstylishly carrying my lunch in a plastic grocery bag on more than a few occasions. This fall, I’d really like to join in with the fashionable crowd and carry my extra belongings in a nice backpack like this.
3. Braids. The funny thing about Pinterest is that it’s almost like people (particularly older, white women) are forgetting that braids and braided hairstyles have been around for a very long time. I recently started braiding my hair again for days when I go out into the world, and it’s been fun. Time consuming, yes, but majorly fun.
4. Globes. I have some big ideas for globes, but I think my combined wanderlust and love for all things interior design have sparked a new love of globes and maps. Especially the non-traditional ones.
