This is not a food blog. However, if I’m actually trying to be domestic at all, I have to document it. It’s in my charter.
For Valentine’s Day, I made my office chocolate covered strawberries!
What You’ll Need:
-a “Double Boiler”—or a pot that fits inside another pot. Pot-ception.
- White Chocolate Chips (I used Tollhouse)
- Sweetened Dark Chocolate Chips (Tollhouse drops are perfect)
-Icing spread doohicky
-Wax paper to lay the strawberries on afterward
Wash the strawberries and let them air dry a bit. As long as they aren’t soaking it’s fine.
Put two cups of water in the larger pot and heat it up just below a boil.
Put the chocolate chips of your choosing in the top pot and put that pot in the almost boiling water pot.
Stir slowly until it becomes smooth and beautiful and not at all chunky:
Pro Tip: You only have about a minute and a half to dip the strawberries after the chocolate reaches this consistency. Taking photos is not practical because the chocolate will thicken, and your once beautiful white chocolate strawberries will look like MONSTERS:
Place your dipped strawberries on wax paper and let them harden. Once they do, remove them and put them in a dish in the refrigerator. And that’s it!
I did the dark chocolate strawberries too:
So far this is a hit! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
