As 2011 draws to a close, I’d like to take this opportunity to remember all of the wonderful, positive things that happened to me over the course of the year!
I was still working at Walt Disney World Resort, which is a good thing in and of itself. It was winter but it was still so warm, and I was sort of living an easy life. Sure, I wasn’t paying any of my bills or student loans because I was broke, but in general, things were good!
Picked up a second job at a resort to try and be a more responsible 21 year old. It helped, but things just weren’t going so great. A kid broke the lens off of my nikon d40, so I felt a bit defeated and realized that maybe it was time to move on from the Mouse.
Finally got to ride the monorail completely alone. I danced and danced to my ipod like there was no tomorrow, and it was everything I thought it would be. Seriously, being alone on the monorail is one of the greatest feelings you will have at any Disney park.
Took a leap of faith. Moved back home to Cincinnati.
Leap of faith was quickly rewarded! I got a job doing my favorite thing in the whole world—social media marketing! Rekindled my love for all things “internet.”
started wearing my hair really cute and paying off loads of bills that had racked up over the months. (adulthood, sheesh).
Worked really hard and started using apps on my iPad (that my work generously gave me). Also became a level 1 fan-girl of Mad Men and got to sit in a Maserati (I’ll own one one day…)
Saw my favorite band live for the 4th time (Gym Class Heroes), got my wisdom teeth removed, “lost” a parent, turned 22…August was a strange turning point in the year. I went from just surviving to actually enjoying myself on a regular basis.
Got a car again, FINALLY! I love my car (which I’ve named Cuba Gooding Jr.). Made some new friends.
Went to Las Vegas for a work conference and ended up getting to wander freely for a few days! I met all of CNN and a new friend from right here on Tumblr! I also dressed as Buzz Lightyear for Halloween, and started going to the gym like it was going out of style.
Went to the gym, a whole lot. Tried new Social Media strategies at work and subsequently was responsible for two of the biggest sale days in my company’s history. Partied hardy for the first time in a really long time.
Me and my nephew, Mason, became obsessed with FaceTime. Here he is trying on the hat I got him for Christmas (spoiler alert: it’s Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba). This month was a good winding down point for the year. I really got into the swing of things at the gym, saved a lot more money, and started planning for the next year. I am honestly really excited for what 2012 will bring. Happy New Year, everyone. *hands in the air waiting for confetti to rain*
